Movie review: King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters

In the September issue of “Game Informer” magazine, the reference bible for those who play computer and video games, there is a side bar interview with one of the principal characters in the new documentary, “King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.” He claims that the work is not objective and that the filmmakers created a villain vs. good guy scenario that crosses the line of fairness.

Movie review: Mr. Woodcock

While the other teachers are there to fill the empty space between their students’ ears, Forest Meadow Middle School’s P.E. teacher is working on what he sees as the absence of a spine in each of the pasty-faced, pre-pubescent pupils lined up, warily waiting for their coach to give them the business.

District Girls Tennis, Golf Begin Oct. 1

Girls tennis and Girls Golf open district tournaments no earlier than Oct. 1 and must be completed by Oct. 6, although MSHSAA has allowed Oct. 8, 9 to be rain dates for Girls Golf.

Hawks Welcome Stars For Hazelwood Central Homecoming Game Sept. 22

This Saturday Hazelwood Central will hold a Septemberfest and Homecoming but look for the Varsity Football Hawks to primarily prepare for the day’s 1 p.m. Suburban North Conference contest as neighboring rival McCluer North comes to visit.

St. Norbert’s Girls Softball Win Championship

St. Norbert
ST. NORBERT’S PARISH Girls Softball team won the championship for the Girls Closed Cadet Division. The team was comprised of eight 6th graders and only three 7th graders playing in the 7th grade league They beat Immaculate Conception Dardenne for the final game 10-4. Their season record was 12-2.
