Hazelwood West Swimmer Ben Solari Highlights 2007 Fall Prep Season

Hazelwood West High School Boys Swimmer Ben Solari has been able to compete in the Missouri State High School Activities Association consolation finals the previous two seasons.

On Nov 9-10 at the St. Peters’ Rec-Plex, Solari was not only able to qualify in the championship finals in two events but he also won two state titles. As a result Solari, a senior was named Co-Swimmer of the Meet, sharing the honor with Greenwood’s T.J. Auner.

Trinity Catholic Adds Girls Swimming; McCluer North Seeking Hoop Repeat

In 2003 St. Thomas Aquinas-Mercy and Rosary High Schools was merged by the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The merged high school, Trinity Catholic, has been housed in the now former Rosary High. Since the merger Trinity has added Wrestling, a sport that did not exist before the merger. Starting Dec. 5 Trinity will compete for the first time ever in Girls Swimming and Diving.

Florissant Council Considers 2008 City Budget, Up $1 Million

The Florissant City Council held first readings on several bills related to the proposed budget for fiscal year 2008. The city’s budget runs from Dec. 1 through Nov. 30. Mayor Robert Lowery sent the proposed budget which is $1 million higher than last year to the council in October. The council then met to review the budget and make changes.

Rockhurst Has Won State Championships In Boys Swimming, Boys Soccer — So Far

So far November has been a month to remember for Rockhurst High School, an all-boys Jesuit-Catholic high school in Kansas City, at the Kansas state line.

Two weeks ago at the St. Peters’ Rec-Plex Rockhurst won their fourth straight Boys Swimming and Diving Championship. Each year Rockhurst winning margin got larger. Two weeks ago Rockhurst scored 313 points while second place Blue Springs scored 221.
