Hazelwood Central Boys Basketball has played six games so far and the Hawks have won those six games.
After a win over Troy Buchanan and winning the Vianney-Jerry Boeckman Memorial Tournament the Hawks defeated Columbia-Hickman, 66-46 and Jefferson City, 55-51. Last Friday against visiting Jefferson City the Hawks overcame a 24-13 first-quarter deficit by outscoring the Jays, 42-27 in the final three quarters. The game ended just hours before the weekend snowstorm arrived in St. Louis.

Florissant Gets Grant to Buy Mobile Camera to Curb Vandalism Grant To Buy

Mayor Robert Lowery announced that the city has received a $57,000 grant from the U. S. Department of Justice for a mobile camera to be used for law enforcement. “We have the grant, but have not yet gotten the equipment,” Lowery said.

Hazelwood’s New Security Chief Says ‘No Crisis’ Exist in School District

The Hazelwood School Board received an update on safety issues from Col. Charles McCrary at the last board meeting who said the district “is not in a crisis,” as might have been projected on some recent television newscasts.
