PEARL HEART: Angela, Courtney and Amy Krechel from Florissant are contestants in the Top 10 on Nashville Star on NBC, hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus, The show airs live on Monday evenings on KSDK Channel 5.The trio survived another round Monday and are now in the Top Ten.

Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park will offer limited access this summer
Visitors to Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park near Lesterville can once again swim in the shut-ins this summer, as announced by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
The shut-ins area of the park will officially open for swimming at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 26 and remain open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Aug. 24, 2008.

F-F School Board Earns State Leadership ’08 Team Award
The Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education has earned the Missouri School Boards’ Association’s Education Leadership Team Award for 2008.
Just four of the 524 school boards across Missouri were selected for this honor.

Dining Divas at Rivival (former site of King Louie’s)

Dinner outside at the beginning of June sounds like a good idea even in St. Louis. It still falls under the time period of “spring” so why not plan to dine al fresco on a new patio surrounded with flowers, herbs, and even tomato plants and corn. Planning for it in April or May more than likely would have included rain. So the Dining Divas picked Revival in June mainly for its hot, new, outdoor dining space; however, the patio wasn’t the only thing that was hot.

Prep Year In Review, 2007-2008 Swimmer, Track Athletes Gain State Gold In 2007-2008 Sports

Winning State Swimming is usually rare for North St. Louis County High Schools, especially in the Florissant Valley area.
However for Ben Solari, Hazelwood West, winning two state swimming medals last November is very rare. Solari wrapped up his prep swimming career by winning the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 100-Yard Breaststroke.

It took almost the entire 2007-08 school year but in the end two North St. Louis County high schools continue their dominance in sports teams they seem to specialize in.
