Writer Workshop Here For Veterans of All Wars

Who better to tell the story of the armed forces than the U.S. troops and veterans who have served? That’s the idea behind a new series of writing workshops for veterans hosted by the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in St. Louis, Missouri starting.Oct, 23.

Central Next For Riverview; West Goes to McCluer North

Boys Soccer Districts Open Nov. 1

High School Boys Soccer will begin District Tournaments on Nov. 1, at the earliest, and will close no later than Nov. 8.

Trinity Catholic will host Class One, District Two, which is an eight-team tournament. Joining Trinity will be North County Tech, Lutheran North, Crossroads College Prep, Maplewood-Richmond Heights and three Public High League teams — Carnahan High School of the Future, Cleveland NJROTC and Metro. The district winner will advance to the Quarterfinal round, Nov. 13 at the Anheuser-Busch Center, Fenton.

Hazelwood Elementary Special Programs Now Offering All-day Title I Classroom

The students in Michelle Holmes’ all-day Title I classroom sat in a circle on the rug. They reviewed shape flashcards before discussing some of the things they do with friends.

Title I is a federally-funded free kindergarten readiness program. Acceptance is based on the test scores of the most academically at-risk students.
