Trinity Catholic, McCluer North Fall Short in State Boys Soccer

Last weekend at the Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton, Trinity Catholic was looking for their first state Boys Soccer title after the Rosary-Aquinas-Mercy merger in 2003 while McCluer North was looking for their first state Boys Soccer title since March, 1975.

Dining Divas: First Impressions of Niche Menu Not Lasting for Dining Divas

The words “icky” and “phooey” are not what you want to hear at first glance of the menu from a restaurant you’ve chosen, but that’s exactly what came from the mouths of some ladies (yes, ladies, not children) at this month’s Dining Divas. And the faces (once again, from ladies, not children) they made. “Precious” faces coming from these grown adults. You would have thought we threw raw livers at them and said “happy feasting.”

Movie review: “Twilight”

There’s nothing wrong with “Twilight” that a little bit of Bela and a little bit of Anne Rice couldn’t fix fast. Overly sensitive to their target audience, the makers of “Twilight” have pretty much drained the life and libido out of the vampire genre with their bloodless and inoffensive adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer romance novels beloved of pre-teen and teen girls.

Holiday Cookin’ at Silver Dollar City’s New Culinary & Craft School

The new kitchen in the Silver Dollar City Culinary & Craft School is so state-of-the-art and tastefully decorated that even Paula Dean might be envious. It’s a fabulous place for Branson visitors to learn to cook a traditional stew or soup, or bake a pie or cookies.

Florissant Seeks Annexation of Area North of Golf Course

The Florissant City Council has passed a bill that will allow the city to continue with the annexation process for and area known to the St. Louis County Boundary Commission and the city as Area 13. This area is the area generally bounded by the city golf course, Lindbergh Boulevard, Old Halls Ferry Road and the city limits. It contains St. Angela Merici church and the surrounding neighborhoods.
