I will always give credit where it is due and for the first half of last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks the Rams played very well. Marc Bulger actually played like a quarterback who wanted to win ducking defenders and making plays. Marc even lined up as a receiver and caught a pass, which was the tbird catch of his career.

Holiday Hoop Tourneys Open This Weekend; Trinity Hosting Tourney

Thinking of ‘Dad’ This Holiday Season as We Wish Best to All

The year 2008 has been a tragic year this writer and my family as we lost the one who we counted on for many years and who counted on us in the final years. I am referring to my dad, Ed Wieners, Jr., who passed away on May 8 after a long and hard struggle with his health, especially after open heart surgery on Jan. 8. Prior to that he had an infection on a knee that was surgically replace nearly four and a half years ago.

Queen Candidates Sought For 2009 Valley of Flowers
Applications are now available for queen candidates for the Valley of Flowers Festival, May 1, 2 and 3, 2009. The parade theme this year is “Florissant Goes to the Movies.”
Candidates must be 16 years of age by April 30, 2009, a junior in high school, and a resident of Florissant. Sponsors do not need to be a Florissant business. The number of candidates is limited to 25, and they will be selected in the order in which the completed application is received.. Rules and regulations for queen candidates are included with the application. Completed applications will be accepted until Feb. 14, 2009.

Florissant’s Snowman Building Contest Runs Through Feb. 15
Florissant has announced its snowman building contest which will be open until Feb. 15. The contest is only for Florissant residents, ages 5-15 years.
Take a picture of yourself and the snowman, and send it along with an application. Prizes will be awarded. The Youth Advisory Commission will be the judges of this contest. Pick up an application, email a digital photo to jsteib@florissantmo.com, or send your picture with your child’s name, address, phone number and age to: Snowman Contest, James J.
