Sen. Bond Staffer To Host Forum in Hazelwood
Lane Koch, from U.S. Senator Kit Bond’s office, will be holding a “Listening Post Forum” for local residents at Hazelwood Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from Noon to 1 p.m.

Central Basketball Teams Seeded First in Class Five, District Six

Hazelwood Central basketball teams are seeded first in the Missouri State High School Activities Association Class Five, District Six Tournament at Hazelwood West.
The tournament begins Saturday with a pair of Girls games — Riverview Gardens versus Hazelwood East at 1 p.m. followed by McCluer against Hazelwood West at 2:30. The following Monday Riverview and East will open the boys tournament at 4 p.m. followed by two time State finalist McCluer North against host West at 5:30.

Numbers Down for N. County Wrestling Teams Going to State

It has been 14 years since a Florissant Valley area high school or a Suburban North Conference high school has won a Missouri State High School Activities Association Wrestling Championship —Hazelwood East in 1995, the third straight Class 4A title.

Valley of Flowers: Queen Candidates Sought
Applications are available for queen candidates for the Valley of Flowers Festival
Candidates must be 16 years of age by April 30, 2009, a junior in high school, and a resident of Florissant. Sponsors do not need to be a Florissant business. The number of candidates is limited to 25, and they will be selected in the order in which the completed application is received.. Rules and regulations for queen candidates are included with the application. Completed applications will be accepted until Feb. 14, 2009.
