Meridian Waste

We opened a forum here on FlovalleyNews last month about Meridian Waste services. We were inundated with complaints from Florissant residents about Meridian Waste services. We chose not to post all these complaints at this time because Meridian recently took on the entire city of Florissant.

Mayor Lowery Appointed to U.S. Conference of Mayors Committee

Mayor Robert Lowery, Sr. has been appointed to the Community Development and Housing Committee and the Tourism, Arts, Parks, Entertainment and Sports Committee for the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The conference is the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. The primary roles of the U.S. Conference of Mayors are to promote the development of effective national urban/suburban policy; strengthen federal-city relationships; ensure that federal policy meets urban needs; provide mayors with leadership and management tools; and create a forum in which mayors can share ideas and information.

Golf for Children Tournament To Benefit St. Vincent Home

The 11th annual Golf for Children Tournament will be held on Monday June 8 at Glen Echo Country Club, 3401 Lucas & Hunt Road. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., lunch served at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon. Golf will be followed by a dinner and auction. ‘Tis The Season – Area pools set to open

Hazelwood’s White Birch Park Bay Aquatic Center will open on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23. Florissant also opens its pools this weekend.
