MSHSAA to Keep Basketball, Wrestling In Columbia, Track Stays in Jeff. City

The Missouri State High School Activities Association announced earlier this summer in its web site, mshsaa.org, that the State Basketball and Wrestling Championships will remain in Columbia while the State Track and Field Championships will remain in Jefferson City, through 2013.

Prep Fall Practices Begin Aug. 10

High School Sports teams that participate in the fall season will begin pre-season practices Aug. 10 in Cross Country, Football, Field Hockey, Girls Golf, Boys Soccer, Softball, Boys Swimming, Girls Tennis and Girls Volleyball.

Rams Ready For 2-A-Days; Rage Ready For Title

Rams Training Camp is so close that I can start to feel it in my bones. Camp starts next week for everyone as the grueling, at least I hope grueling two a days will whip these guys into shape and have them ready for their pre-season opener against the Jets which isn’t really all that
far away.

Movie review: The Ugly Truth

Picture Rock Hudson and Doris Day afflicted with Tourette’s disease (the one that makes a person curse uncontrollably) in an episode of TV’s “Sex in the City” and you’ll have some idea of what to expect with The Ugly Truth. From the sight of adorable Katherine Heigl and swarthy Gerard Butler tossing at office colleagues and the viewing public—as well as lobbing at each other—words no genteel gal or classy gent would exchange in polite society.

Dining Divas: Cool Weather, Outdoor Dining Makes The Divas Feel Better

This Weekend: ACS’s North County Relay For Life at Hazelwood Central

What has been a long-time summer tradition in North County returns this weekend when the American Cancer Society holds its annual relay For Life on Friday, July 31-Aug. 1 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at the track at Hazelwood Central High School. Teams collect funds for each time they circle the track. Many teams camp-out all night at the event.
