St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley will not be playing Women’s Soccer for the third year having last played in 2006. Women’s Soccer won the National Junior College Athletic Association title in 1988 and 1990, the last year Florissant Valley has won an NJCAA title in any sport. Women’s Soccer last won the Region XVI title in 2005 and last had a winning record in 2003.

It’s hard to believe but the night finally came when the Rams opened their home preseason at the Dome last Friday night. I had heard alot about all of the fan friendly changes that the Rams and the Dome had made but when I saw them in person I was really impressed.

Defending Class Six State Champion Hazelwood Central, Defending Class Five State Champion Hazelwood East, McCluer North and Riverview Gardens are four of the eight Suburban North Conference teams that will start the 2009 football season on the road while Hazelwood West and McCluer will open at home with conference games.

BY JIM WIENERSThis season HighSchoolSports.net will release high school football ratings in each state and nationwide through Massey Ratings a system created by Ken Massey, a math professor at Carson-Newman College in Tennessee and computer ratings analyst whose ratings are among the computer rankings used in NCAA Division I-Bowl Division teams in the Bowl Championship Series.

Weekly Recycling Added For Allied Pick-up in Black Jack
In conformity with St. Louis County Solid Waste Ordinances the Black Jack City Council has provided for the collection of recyclables for single-family dwelling unit in the city.
The occupants of each single-family dwelling unit are required to utilize the recyclables collection service selected by the city and contracted with Allied Waste effective Aug. 1, 2009.
