Man Arrested for Attempted Abduction of a 16 Year-Old on Her Way to School on Sept. 22
A 39 year-old Bel-Ridge area man was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 22 after attempting to force a 16 year-old high school student into his vehicle waiting she was walking to school at 5:50 a.m. in the area of Mullanphy and Florissant Park The suspect pulled up in a black SUV and attempted to intimidate the student into his vehicle.

Movie review: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

First, there was “Up”. Now, there is “Down,” so-to-speak, with the scrumptious new 3-D animated comedy release from Columbia Pictures, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs;” in which the sky is falling on the Atlantic island community of Swallow Falls and the effect won’t be like pennies from heaven for long.

Hazelwood Joins National Safe City Celebration on Sept. 29
The Hazelwood City Council has issued a Safe Cities Proclamation declaring the last week in September as Crime Prevention Week in Hazelwood. In conjunction with this effort to take a stand against crime and violence, the City of Hazelwood is partnering with the Neighborhood Watch Commission and the National Crime Prevention Council to organize a Safe City Celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Hazelwood Central Hosts Class 4 Girls Softball District 7, Sectional

Hazelwood Central High School will be one of 64 host sites for the 2009 Missouri State High School Activities Association Softball Tournament, which is scheduled to start Oct. 7 and end by Oct. 10.
