North County residents may soon have another dining option. The Kellan Restaurant Management Corporation came before the Florissant City Council this week for a public hearing about its plans to open a 54th Street Grill and Bar in the city.

Lawson Students Earning PAWS for Positive Behavior, Have Theme Song

Lawson Elementary School 5th Graders in Savanna Green’s class pose with their first place PAWS poster. A song, “Lawson PAWS,” describes the program. The students learned the lyrics and a dance, in which they show their palms, or paws. Part of the school’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports effort, PAWS symbolizes the school’s mascot, a wildcat and it stands for Prepare for learning, Accept everyone, Work together and Stay safe.

Jury Teacher Losing His Hair for Student Fundraiser, Service Project


In a few short weeks, Dan Ryno, a fourth grade teacher at Jury Elementary School in the Hazelwood School District, will say good-bye to his hair, allowing one lucky student to shave his head and broadcast the haircut with a video into the classrooms throughout the building.

Rams Story Getting Old; Big Mack Back Came From Left Field
