ACE Learning Centers’ Credit Recovery Helps Students Graduate From High School

ACE Learning Centers has started its fourth year of credit recovery classes. More 400 area high school students from our partner districts, Hazelwood, Pattonville, Ritenour, St. Louis City, and Riverview Gardens, will be attending ACE credit recovery classes this week.

“The main focus of ACE continues to be offering our partner school districts learning centers that help students graduate through highly focused individualized learning plans, computer-based instruction, and a 6 to 1 student to teacher ratio,” ACE founder and CEO Gene Reynolds, said. “ACE credit recovery classes are a value added service that we provide to the students of our partner school districts.”

ACE credit recovery classes allow students to earn high school credits toward graduation at their home school. Classes are offered in the four core areas of math, English, social studies and science, as well as selected electives for grades 9 through 12.

All instruction is computer-based with a teacher in each class room for student support. Classes meet for two hours once per week for ten weeks. Since 2006 ACE credit recovery has helped over 4500 area students work towards their diplomas.

Becky Groceman, a senior at Hazelwood Central High School, said the ACE Learning Center credit recovery program has helped her stay on pace to graduate and to work on her goal to pursue a career in nursing “Credit recovery has helped me a lot because I had dropped out for a semester,” she said “I ‘m able to go at my own pace in steps that are a lot more reasonable than regular summer school.”

ACE Learning Centers’ credit recovery classes are full for the fall 2009 semester. Registration for the spring 2010 semester will begin in January. For further information about credit recovery classes contact ACE Learning Centers at 314 839 7575.
