Black Jack Council Filing For April Elections Now Available
The City of Black Jack will have an election next April for City Council members from Wards, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Any person desiring to become a candidate can begin filing from, Dec. 15, from 7:30 am to 6 pm, until Jan. 19, during normal business hours at Black Jack City Hall, 12500 Old Jamestown Road.
Candidates need to notify the city clerk, in writing on forms supplied by the City clerk, of their intention to be a candidate. Qualifications are a person must be at least 21 years old , a citizen of the United States,reside in the city for one year next preceding his election, a resident of the ward from which he is elected six months preceding his election.
The candidate must give their name, residence address, the office for which they are a candidate and if a candidate for member of the City Council, the number of the Ward in which they reside.
