Ferguson – Florissant School District Names Three New Elementary School Principals
Administrators will serve students and families at Bermuda, Central and Wedgwood Elementary Schools
The Ferguson-Florissant School District announced the appointments of three elementary school principals for the 2013-2014 school year:
Matthew Hinzpeter has served the District for 12 years as an elementary school teacher and currently as interim principal at Bermuda Elementary School. He has been named building principal at Bermuda Elementary School, located at 5835 Bermuda Dr. in St. Louis. Mr. Hinzpeter holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master’s degree in elementary administration from Lindenwood University.
“Mr. Hinzpeter is an experienced educator and skilled collaborator whose leadership as interim principal at Bermuda Elementary School has been noted by students, parents and staff alike,” said Ferguson-Florissant’s superintendent, Dr. Art McCoy. “We are excited about his continued contributions to the school and our district.”
Crystal Isom-Adu is an educator and administrator with more than 18 years’ experience serving students in Durham, N.C., and has been named building principal at Central Elementary School, located at 201 Wesley Ave. in Ferguson. Ms. Isom-Adu holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Lincoln University and master’s degrees in clinical psychology, special education and school administration from North Carolina State University.
“Ms. Isom-Adu brings a wealth of instructional and administrative experience to her new role, having held positions as principal and assistant principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels which will benefit our students,” said Dr. McCoy.
Elizabeth Raymer-Drury comes to the District with 19 years of experience in education, serving previously as a teacher and instructional coach in the City of St. Charles and Wentzville School Districts. She has been named building principal at Wedgwood Elementary School located at 14275 New Halls Ferry Road in Florissant. Ms. Raymer-Drury received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in education from Lindenwood University and a master’s degree in educational administration from William Woods University.
“Ms. Raymer-Drury has worked in many capacities in the school setting and brings a well-developed, diverse skill set to her new role,” said Dr. McCoy.
“We are very pleased to have these three very talented individuals serve our students and families next year and we look forward to their contributions,” added Dr. McCoy.
