Florissant Parks to host family fishing tourney July 12
The Florissant Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Florissant Youth Advisory Commission, is sponsoring its annual Family Fishing Tournament at St. Ferdinand Park Lake, Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m.-noon.
The tournament is meant to be a fun and recreational outing for the entire family. Attendance prizes and consolation awards will be given in various categories throughout the event.
Only Florissant residents are eligible to participate, however, registration is required. Registration is in progress at the James J. Eagan Center (Parker Road & Waterford Drive) and the JFK Community Center (315 Howdershell Road). There is no charge to participate in the event, and a current 2008 Florissant resident card is required to register.
Registration is open to all ages, however, Missouri state law requires that individuals 16-65 years of age must have a Missouri State Fishing License. For information call the James J. Eagan Center at 921-4466 or the JFK Community Center at 921-4250.
