July 4th Activities

Florissant
The city’s annual July 4th activities begins with The Northwinds Concert Band performing at 7:30 p.m. at Florissant Valley Park at the James J. Eagan Center. The concert will preceed the fireworks at dusk.
The band, under the direction of Larry Marsh, will present a light-hearted program that will include music from films and Broadway along with patriotic marches and tunes to celebrate Independence Day.
. This year’s extravaganza features a dazzling fireworks presentation combining brilliant shells, color sequencing, dimensional frontage, and low and high level aerial combinations.
Bring out the blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy top notch, free entertainment for the entire family. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks display ONLY will be held the following evening (July 5 at 9:30). For additional information, call the James J. Eagan Center at 921-4466.
Ferguson
Ferguson will hold its Family Fun Festival on July 4, from noon-9:45 p.m., at January Wabash Park, 501 N. Florissant Rd. The parade will start at noon at Paul and South Florissant roads followed by opening ceremonies at 1:45 p.m. Activities will continue throughout the day. Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.
Opening ceremonies will include Ferguson Citizen of the Year and Youth Achievement awards. A variety of food, beverage and game booths will be available, plus entertainment throughout the day.

Hazelwood
Hazelwood Fourth of July events will be held from 7-9 p.m. at White Birch Park with a fireworks display at dusk. Off site parking with a shuttle bus to the park begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call 731-0980.
Alton
Alton’s spectacular fireworks display on the Mississippi is a must see with the Clark Bridge as a backdrop over the Mississippi River. This year the fireworks display will be on Friday, July 2 after 9 p.m. This fireworks show is always a crowd pleaser For more information, call (618) 465-6676.
St. Charles
St. Charles will hold Riverfest 2010 on Saturday, July and Sunday, July 4. Fireworks will be on both days at 9:20 p.m. The displays will be set to music and simulcast on KCLC 89.1 FM radio.
