North County Christian School Technology Safety Panel For Parents, Feb. 18


Parents will learn new ways to protect their children with a free Technology Safety Panel to be held at North County Christian School (NCCS), 845 Dunn Road, on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7 pm.

The  three scheduled speakers are: Lt. Joe Laramie, director of Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce; Sgt. Kevin Boschert, Florissant Police Department’s Public Information Unit; and a representative from BJC Healthy Kids at Play Community Outreach Division,

They will discuss the many cyber activities children perform, including: e-mail, IM, chats, creating websites, blogs, surfing an “unrestricted” net, Facebook/MySpace, creating Avatars, Ebay, online dating, driving and texting, sexting.  The panel will offer an opportunity for parents to ask questions.
