St. Patrick’s Day at St. Ferdinand Shrine: Irish Food, Book Fair, March 17

St. Ferdinand Shrine where John Mullanphy an Irishmen and Missouri’s first millionaire helped build St. Ferdinand Church, will have a special St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Shrine schoolhouse.

Mullanphy had  donated $6000 to have the church constructed.  Irish laborers helped build the church Residents can  celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a true Irish setting.

The food will be cooked by true Irishmen on that day with the the traditional  St. Patrick’s fare:  corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, bread, desserts, coffee, soda, tea.   Price will be $7 for an adult plate and $3 for children ( 12 and under).

The Shrine  book fair will be having special prices and you can take tours of the Shrine. .Last year the food was sold out by 4 p.m. so be advised to com early.  Reservations  are not required.
